Update • We played with the lead-lag transfer function while researching until we • Confirmed that lead compensation does not better the control for this particular system • The decision, therefore, is lead-lag is not worth implementing • Met with Avi to verify our system design and our progress with the controller • Verified that we are on track • Clarified our system design • He gave suggestions to make optimizing easier and for cleaning up temp circuit
Update (cont.) • Cleaned up the temperature circuit • Set the negative input of the op-amp to 6V instead of ground so that we get a positive voltage output • One op-amp instead of two • Analyzed the system response of our TEC to see if we can make use out of a first-order approximation • Makes it easier on us to optimizethe number of parameters we must tweak goes down to 1 • Finalized our final system design w/ schematic
Current Assignments • Building the difference amplifier • Building the driver • A matter of interfacing the output of the compensator to a transistor that then powers TEC • Minor loop control is something we really want to do feedback around the driver to make the transistor “perfect” • These means adding gain compensation around the transistor • Software-wise: makes it so we don’t have to take into account the transfer function of the driver *Goal: Have a working deliverable by Monday
