About Us Stumbelbloc, the top interlocking building blocks supplier in Cape Town, was developed and established by Andre Esterhuizen. The concept of the company was born as a result of the usual building problems people face in South Africa, one such problem being that the labour force has little to no skill in building. To combat this, as well as help the disadvantaged, Andre began experimenting with brick moulds and interlocking building blocks. As a result, Stumbebloc was born! The block was designed in such a way that the bricks are self-levelling, self-aligning and require very little to no skill to produce.
The Product Stumbelbloc’s innovative plastic brick moulds, as can be seen on the right, can be used to produce concrete building blocks. The mould is filled with a concrete mixture and left to dry. Thereafter, it is removed and can be used to build a variety of structures, such as huts, garages, houses, ponds, pools, etc. The unique interlocking shape of the building blocks make them easy to use and work with, as they are both self-aligning and self-levelling, meaning very little skill and building knowledge is required.
Manuals While very little skill and knowledge is required to produce the interlocking bricks, it is of utmost importance that the moulding of the block be done correctly. Therefore, when purchasing moulds from Stumbebloc, a moulding manual is included with your purchase. Additionally, you also receive a building manual, which you can use to produce any of the structures you wish. These manuals can also be found on the company’s website.
The Mix Ratio • If the wrong mix ratio is used when producing the bricks, the creation of the building blocks may be unsuccessful. • The standard mix ratio, which can also be found on the company’s website, includes: • 2.5 Wheelbarrows Full of Building Sand • 2.5 Wheelbarrows Full of 13mm Stone • 1 Bag of 42.5 MPa Cement • Water (added sparingly until buttery consistency is achieved)
