The population of Italy is a little over 60 million. The official language is Italian and in some small areas German, Slovenian or French. People also speak different regional dialects languages such as Sicilian and Sardinian are two of the most widespread ones. The people of Italy are partly descendant of the ancientRomans. Italy is home to more World Heritage Sites than any other nation in the world. These sites are culturally important and value according to UNESCO. Italy is also a big wine producer. It is divided into 20 Regions. There are 20 Regions. 5 of them have a special status, they are called autonomous. Every Region is divided into Provinces.

  3. CALABRIA and reggiocalabria Reggio di Calabria, commonly known as Reggio Calabria or Reggio, is the biggest city and the most populated comune of Calabria (southern Italy). It is the capital of the Province of Reggio Calabria and is the seat of the Regional Council of Calabria. Reggio is located on the "toe" of the Italian peninsula and it is separated from the island of Sicily by the Strait of Messina. It is situated on the slopes of the Aspromonte, a long, craggy mountain range that runs up through the center of the region. In 2009 it was recognised by Italian Republic as the 10th Città Metropolitana ('Metropolitan City') in Italy.

  4. The city center, consisting primarily of Liberty buildings, has a linear development along the coast with parallel streets. The Lungomare Falcomatà, a seaside promenade located in the downtown is a crowded swimming destination and the main symbol of the summer movida. It was defined by Nando Martellini, quoting wrongly the poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, as "the most beautiful kilometre of Italy”. It is dotted with rare magnolias and exotic palms. Villa Genoese-Zerbi and modern sculpture Modern sculpture in front of Villa Genoese-Zerbi Villa Genoese-Zerbi is a modern villa in 14th-century Venetian style (Neogothic). It is the seat of exhibition of the Venice Biennale in southern Italy

  5. Reggio’s most common nicknames: The "city of Bronzes", for the Riace bronzes which are testimonials of its Greek origins and symbols of the city; the "city of bergamot", which is exclusively cultivated in the region; and the "city of Fatamorgana", an optical phenomenon visible in Italy only from the Reggio seaside. Reggio is the seat, since 1907, of the Archeological Superintendence of Bruttium and Lucania. The city has two recently founded universities: the "Mediterranea" University, and the "Università per Stranieri" (University for Foreigners). There are also an Academy of Fine Arts (opened in 1967) and a Conservatory of Music (founded in 1927).

  19. THE FORMATIVE OFFER PLAN The Formative Offer Plan, consistent with the principle of the autonomy of educational institutions, is inspired by universally shared values enshrined in the European and Italian Constitution. The comprehensive school, named after two great figures of our land – Nosside – a Greek poetess and Pythagoras – a philosopher and mathematician - promotes cultural and civil identity, drawing on the best traditions of Calabria and fueling the challenge for a more convinced and significant dimension of civil and social life.

  20. GENERAL DESIGN CHOICES The Pedagogical-didactic design of the IstitutoComprensivo is characterized by the principle of unity and more precisely by the need to: Coordinate the 3 different orders of school operating in the same area, respecting each Institution's history and sharing a unitary project. Schedule all educational processes in respect of personality and the needs of each individual student. Share the fundamentals of civil life with family and pupils through the Pact of co-responsibility.
