Access to HTMLDB/Apex UI • Permissions & Privileges • Access to metrics is granted by Data Provider and permissions • Power users – can see all data for their Data Provider and subsystems • NSIDC: ECS and/or NSIDCV0 • LPDAAC: ECS and/or MRTWEB) • General users – can see all data except IP Host and User data

  4. Access to HTMLDB/Apex UI • Permissions & Privileges (Cont) • By Mission/Instrument/Product (MIP) – users can see data for a specific mission, instrument, or product across Data Providers that provide metrics

  5. Report Generation • Data in HTMLDB/Apex is defined by Data Providers (DPs) • EMS resolves raw data into product and user information using DP-provided metadata • Product mappings • User profiles • Search terms/regular expressions • Analysts generate reports using resolved data • Excel provides a powerful mechanism to create custom reports

  6. Report Creation Process • Query Apex/HTMLDB • Export to Excel • Analyze data • Refine query • Create reports • Text • Tables • Charts

  7. Things to Note • Query Button – cached reports may not download data to Excel • The fix? - Click the Query button to refresh data (see EMS FAQ #3) • Files vs Granules terminology? • Can mean the same or different things to different data providers (ECS or non-ECS). Ex: • ECS - Granules can be made up of many files • For more details, see EMS FAQs
