WapServer • The WapServer provides WAP-based software download interface, and conducts user authentication for the download interface visitors • Mobile Operator’s MISC platform and the RegServer support user registration, the WapServer is exempted from the user registration responsibility • Mobile Operator will need to provide WAP server

RegServer • The RegServer and the Fortinet Primary Server need to sync up on certain type of the customer registration information on the RegDB • The FortiMobile RegServer provides the following service: • Customer registration service through Web Service for the ISPs, mobile enterprises, and the mobile device users. • Customer registration web site, which allows for customers’ manual registration. (new feature in next release). • Maintenance of customer information • Mobile Operator will need to provide RegServer

  17. FortiClient Mobile Manager • The FortiManager Mobile is a high-performance, high-usability, and high-reliability product especially designed for large enterprises, ISPs, and telecom customers. Deployed at the edge of the mobile network and connected to the public network, it provides dynamic update service. • The FortiManager Mobile acquires FortiGuard service data and updates from the Secondary Server, and stores the data locally. It keeps itself in synch with the Secondary Server. • The FortiManager Mobile responds to FortiGuard service requests from FortiClient Mobiles and sends updates to the clients. • The FortiManager Mobile acquires customer information from all its FortiClient Mobiles and stores the information locally. It keeps itself in sync with the Fortinet Primary. • The FortiManager Mobile responds to customer information update requests from FortiClient Mobiles and sends updates to the clients. • Each FortiManager Mobile maintains an up-to-date directory of all the available FortiManager Mobiles and periodically distributes this directory to every FortiClient Mobile, so that the FortiClient Mobiles can select the closest FortiManager Mobile.
