  3. COLLEGE RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide MSDS List Of Hazardous Materials. • Provide Location Of MSDS List. • Provide Training To At-Risk Employees. • How To Identify Hazards. • How To Use Labels And MSDSs. • Details On Right-To-Know Program.

  4. EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES • Includes ALL At-Risk Employees. • Must Be Able To Read And Understand MSDSs And Labels. • Must Know, Respect, And Follow Rules Applicable To Hazardous Substances. • Must Keep Up-To-Date With Regulations And Procedures.

  5. LABELING REQUIREMENTS REVIEW • Name And Address Of Importer, Manufacturer, Or Distributor. • Chemical Name And Trade Name, If Any. • Appropriate Hazards And Hazard Warnings. • Any Required OSHA Labeling.

  6. MSDS REQUIREMENTSREVIEW • Must Have A Copy For Each Hazardous Material. • Must Be Available To Employees. • Must Be Less Than Five Years Old. • Master Listing In Campus Safety & Security Office.

  7. MSDS REQUIREMENTSREVIEW • Hazardous Material Identity Must Be The Same As On Label. • Each Material In A Mixture Must have Respective MSDS. • Must Have Physical And Chemical Characteristics. • Must Have Health Hazards, Including Portals Of Entry & Symptoms.

  8. MSDS REQUIREMENTSREVIEW • Permissible Exposure Limits (PELs). • Safe Handling Precautions. • Is It A Carcinogen? A Terratogen? Or A Mutagen? • Emergency Control Measures. Including Disasters And PPE.

  9. MSDS REQUIREMENTSREVIEW • Precautions For Safe Handling And Cleanup. • Date MSDS Was Prepared OR Most Recent Changes. • Name, Address, And Phone Number Of Manufacturer, Importer, Distributor Or Other Responsible Agency. • Must Be Available To All Employees.

  10. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • Within 30 Days Of Employment Or Reassignment. • Overview Of Hazardous Materials Standard. • Review Of Chemicals In Workplace. • Location And Availability Of Written Program And MSDS Files.

  11. TRAINING REQUIREMENTS • Physical And Health Effects Of Hazards. • Proper Storing And Dispensing Of Materials. • Methods Used To Determine The Presence And/Or Release of Hazardous Materials. • How To Lessen Or Prevent Exposures. • Emergency Procedures To Be Followed.

  12. PHYSICALHEALTH HAZARDS • Explosives. • Flammables. • Reactives.

  13. CHEMICALHEALTH HAZARDS • Target Organ Toxic. • Toxic. • Corrosive.

  14. UNMARKED OR UNLABELED PIPES • Hazardous Material Carrying Pipes Must Be Labeled. • Supervisor Responsible For Informing Employees Of Hazardous Material. • Supervisor Responsible For Training Associated With Hazardous Material.

  15. NON-ROUTINE TASKS • Before Being Performed, Employee Must Be Advised By Supervisor. • On Specific Hazardous Material And Associated Hazards.

  16. NON-ROUTINE TASKS • PPE To be Used. • Measures To Be Taken To Lessen Hazards. • Give Employee An Opportunity To Ask Questions.

  17. NONEMPLOYEEEXPOSURE • Potential Hazardous Chemicals Exposure. • Measures To Be Taken To Lessen Potential. • Location Of MSDSs. • Procedures To Be Followed If Exposed. • Contact And Directions To Be Given Before Work Begins.
