The Rocawear brand was co-founded in 1999 by Jay-Z • The brand target is urban consumers however over the past decade the brand branched out into international markets. • Rocawear is a brand that creates high quality designs at affordable prices. • The brand has developed not only men and women clothing lines but children as well, along with other accessories, shoes, and jewelry. • Jay-Z sold the rights to the Rocawear brand in March of 2007 to the Iconix Brand Group. Yet, the rapper still holds a stake in the company and continues to oversee the marketing, licensing and product development of the brand.
The 40/40 Club Jay-Z opened the club in 2003 in Manhattan. The club is an upscale sports bar and lounge.
The S. Carter Collection Jay-Z became the first non-athlete to have a sneaker line. He teamed up with Reebok to create the S. Carter collection. The S. Carter hit the stores in April of 2003 and broke Reebok’s sales records and sold out throughout the company within the first hour of its debut.
