In 2001, it opened the Education-History Museum to display a century's worth of history and medicine. In 2002, the Daegu March 1 Movement Gallery was opened, to be followed by the 2002 World Cup Memorial. The Hill Medical Center Medical Missionary Museum honors those from the past while preserving and displaying various materials to provide education for modern visitors.

It was completely rebuilt in 1902. It is the only building in Daegu that retains its early 20th century appearance. It generally follows a Romanesque design, but it has some Gothic elements, including spires and stained-glass windows.

Program Missionaries’ Alley / House Of Lee Sang-hwa -Missionaries’ Alley This alley, which connects the residences of the missionaries and Jaejungwon (what is now Dongsan Medical Center), Shinmyung School, Geysung School, and the downtown of the city, is called ‘Missionaryies’ Alley’ for its obvious origin. A small and cozy trail that consists of 90 stairs in total along with a beautiful trail in the wood. Also called as ‘3.1 Alley’ as the 3.1 movement in the city first started in this location. -House Of Lee Sang-hwa The movement to preserve the old home of Sang-hwa Lee culminated with the Military Mutual Aid Association purchasing and donating the building in 2005. Daegu City has reconstructed and completed setting up displays within the home. The house of Sang-ha Lee honors the nationalistic mind that prevailed during the Japanese Colonial Period and will continue to serve as an important educational site.

  10. Program Korean Bronzeware Museum DaeguBangjjaYugi Museum is Korea's first bronzeware-specialized museum built to preserve the BangjjaYugi, a traditional cultural property. It also aims to hand down its manufacturing technology to posterity so that the excellence of traditional Korean cultural assets may continue to be presented, and the development of local culture will be promoted. The Museum houses 1,489 items of Yugi in 275 types donated without compensation by Mr. LEE Bong-ju, who made and collected Yugi. Artisan LEE Bong-ju was designated by the central government in 1983 as the Important Intangible Cultural Asset No. 77. It is rare to find countries in the world that preserve Yugi manufacturing technology. Under these circumstances, the DaeguBangjjaYugi Museum will do its best in building diverse cultural contents with IT and CT integrated in order to meet the age of cultural competition in the 21st century. This will help to attract the attention of new generations, and motivate them to foster cultural infrastructures unique to this area. -영어,중국어,일본어 소책자 구비.

  15. Program Bulguk-sa Temple The construction of Bulguksa Temple was begun by GimDaeseong in 751 A.D., during the reign of King Gyeongdeok, and was completed in 774 A.D during the reign of King Hyegong. Its construction was begun and completed parallel with that of Seokguram. Nestled in the western foothills of Mt. Tohamsan, Bulguksa Temple is a monumental work of art recognized throughout the world for its excellence. It depicts profound Buddhist principles and the spirit of artistic genius in a unique way. As the longed-for Buddhist land and ideal world of Silla imagination brought to earth, Bulguksa Temple is a realization of the earthly Saha World as expressed by Sakyamuni Buddha in the Lotus Sutra, Buddha’s Land of Bliss from the Amitabha (Infinite Life) Sutra, and the Lotus Land of Vairocana from the Avatamska (Flower Garland) Sutra. The architectural form of Bulguksa Temple can be divided chiefly into two areas. One area contains Daeungjeon (Hall of Great Enlightenment), surrounded by Cheongungyo (Blue Cloud Bridge), Baegungyo (White Cloud Bridge), Jahamun (Purple Mist Gate), Beomyeongnu (Pavilion of Mount Meru), Jwagyeongnu (Left Sutra Hall), Dabotap (Pagoda of Many Treasures), Seokgatap (Sakyamuni Pagoda), and Museoljeon (Hall of No Words). The other area contains Geuknakjeon (Hall of Supreme Bliss), surrounded by Chilbogyo (Seven Treasures Bridge), Yeonhwagyo (Lotus Flower Bridge), and Anyangmun (Peace Enhancing Gate). The magnificent and unique stone structures seen when one looks straight on at the temple remain from the eighth century, and the wooden buildings are18th century restorations built upon the remains of the original structures that burnt to the ground. Hoerang was restored in the 1960s.

  18. Program ByeongsanSeoeon At first, this Seowon(a local private school) was located in Pungsan-hyeon, with the name of "PungakSeodang" for teaching local Confucianists since Goryeo Age. In 1572(5th year of Seonjo) Master SeoaeRyuSeongryong moved it to the present location. In 1607, Seoae died and local Confucianists like JeongGyeongse enshrined a memorial tablet for Seoae and dedicated Jondeoksa(a memorial shrine for Seoae) for the memorial of studies and morality of Seoae in 1613(5th year of Gwanghaegun). The name was changed to "ByeongsanSeowon" in 1614. In 1620(12th year of Gwanghaegun), most of Confucianists insisted that the memorial tablet should be enshrined in YeogangSeowon, a memorial Seowon for Master Twegye and they moved and enshrined there. Since then, another memorial tablet was made and enshrined in Jondeoksa in 1629(9th year of Injo). Also, SuamRyu Jin, the third son of Seoae, was enshrined. In 1863(14th year of Cheoljong) King bestowed a name plate for Seowon and promoted to Seowon. As a leading local school for the memorial of masters and education, many scholars studied here. Even in 1868(5th year of Gojong) this Seowon was protected despite the order of closing Confucian schools made by Daewongun. Under the Japanese Imperialism, a major repair and rebuilding was done, rebuilding a hall in 1921 and a shrine in 1937. On every Jungjeong(a lunar calendar day in the mid-week of a month) of March and September, Seowon holds Hyangsarye, a memorial ceremony. On March 31, 1978, Seowon was declared a historical monument. Presently, Seowon is located in Byeongsan-dong, Pungcheon-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. -입구 안내소에 하회마을에 대한 소책자 배치. 영어 중국어 일본어 구비되어 있음. (병산서원만 따로 설명된 것은 없음)

  19. Program AndongHahoe Folk Village Hahoe is the village where the members of Ryu family which originated from Hahoe Village have lived together for 600 years. It is a representative village for one family where tile-roofed houses and thatched roofed ones have been quite well conserved for a long time. The village is especially well known as the birth place of RyuUnryong and RyuSeongryong. They were brothers: the one was a great Confucian scholar of the Joseon Dynasty: the other was Prime Minister during the period of the Japanese Invasion(from1592 to 1598) called Imjinwaeran. The reason for the village name Hahoe(Ha means a river and Hoe means turning around) was that the Nakdong River flows around the village in an S shape. Hahoe Village looks like two connected spirals called Taeguek, a lotus flower floating on the water, and a boat gliding on the river. This configuration topologically makes the village a very good residence, so it has been known as a good place to live in since the time of the Joseon Dynasty. Mountain Hwa which originates from the Taebaek Mountains and is 271 meters high is located in the eastern part of the village. Low hills of the mountain are stretched to the western part of the village. The location on which a great zelkova tree 600 years old stands is the highest in the village. The tree is called Samsindang in which a goddess called Samsin resides. The houses are faced to the river with the great tree at the center, so they are located facing various direction. Considering that many other houses in Korean are faced to the south or the south-east, the configuration of the houses in Hahoe Village is greatly contrasted. It is another characteristic thatched thatched roofed houses are placed in a circula form around tile-roofed houses. Hahoe Village has conserved HahoeByeolsingut Mask Dance Play performed by the public in general, and SeonyujulbulNori-a boat ride and fire paly enjoyed by the nobility called Yangban. The village conserves many cultural heritages which show Korean traditional living cultures and ancient architectual styles.
