Tree Elimination and Tree Trimming

1. Ouch! We just recently requested a bid to trim some trees and get rid of the ever present "Cedar" trees, which are not cedars, however are in fact Juniper trees. There are millions and countless these scrub trees in main Texas. Numerous, in fact, that the nearest town is called Cedar Park. Cedar Park hosts a cool little festival every year called the Cedar Chopper Fest. Nevertheless, it's not enough to obtain rid of these awful trees and I digress. The Cedars burn extremely hot and go up in flames practically instantly during a dry spell. Compare it to a dried Christmas tree. In January, the Cedars produce a lot pollen that there is a particular irritant named after them. It's called Cedar Fever. It is the most devastating pollen around. When the Cedars are releasing their pollen, it looks like smoke is in the air. Directs, everybody who purchases land in central Texas - get rid of the Cedar trees first! Simply call somebody with a backhoe or bobcat and mow those suckers down. Back to the quote for tree trimming and Cedar elimination. This little ranch has to do with two acres and we have much less than a acre of overgrowth. Our first bid was almost $10,000! Yikes! They wished to bring in a bulldozer, a back hoe and 3 or 4 men to work for 2 weeks. The second quote was for two or 3 men and a bobcat geared up with a brush cutter and pail to move the brush to the fire pit. That bid was for $2800 however does not include much in the method of tree trimming. We may have to discover some teenagers who can climb.

2. The brush, tree trimmings and stumps should all be burned. Much of that work is not included in the bids as the landscapers do not wish to be responsible for regulated burns. The alternative is a pricey separate bid for transporting off the brush. Given that we live under county rules and guidelines, we decided to do the burns ourselves. This might take all Fall and Winter season and might even have to wait for those teenagers tree Care to obtain out of school for the Summer season.
