Goals • Advertise TDWG stardards among biodiversity community • Facilitate student (including non-expert) education • Provide Resources for outsiders • Facilities for TDWG members to share resources and questions • Recruiting Tool • Experience Archive • Post-Banquet morning attendence from hotel room 2007

  3. Current TDWG Infrastructure • Many tools in place over past 2 years • Many technologies being used by individuals requiring institutionalization 2007

  4. Teacher - Student Roles • Education = 2-way communication • In Web 1.0, students read professors professions. • In Web 2.0, students write and participate in Internet activities • TDWG “Students” are often PhDs • Therefore we must simplify presentations 2007

  5. User Needs--TDWG meeting(mostly Synchronous) • Meeting schedule/abstracts with references to introduction materials • Presentation slides • Audio synchronous with the presentations • Discussion board to post the comments and questions • Audio channel to the discussion sections 2007

  6. User Needs --Training(Asynchronous) • Education resources • Courseware • Standards • Demonstrations • Exercises • Discussion/Communication • Where to find more materials or help 2007
