ImmunoAssay protocols and machine cycles • The protocol of each analyte specifies all the steps executed by the machine (times, volumes, temperatures) and their order. • All the steps performed by the instrument during the execution of any analyte (dispensing, washing, aspirating, reading), have a specific time length. • The time length is quantified by the instrument in machine-cycles. Each machine cycle is 320 seconds for IA and 70 seconds for CC/SP. • There are currently 10 different protocols for all immunoassay tests.
