  2. 1 Peter • Epistle to Jewish Christians pilgrims • Strength to endure suffering • Big picture view 1:3-12 • Reward for undeserved suffering 3:13-4:19 • In between is encouragement to think and live in a way that glorifies God 1 Peter 1:13-3:12 • 1:13Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind • If heart & mind are right, conduct will be right • 1:15Be holy in all your conduct

  3. 1 Peter 1:3-2:10 • 1:14-15holy in conductas obedient children • 1:15-16holy as He who called you is holy • 1:17-21holy because you have been redeemed from corruption • Consider the value of the price paid for you to be holy: precious blood of Christ (incorruptible) • Consider from what you were redeemed: Your aimless conduct by tradition from your fathers • 1:22-25holy because you have purified your souls in obeying the truth
