Blogs… • Also known as “weblog.” • Maintained by a individual or a group • Commentary or opinions on topics includes pictures and links to news/other blog articles.
White Papers… • Addresses issues and how to solve them. • They are education devices used to inform individuals on a topic. • Mostly used in political and business settings.
Podcast… • Digital media files either audio or video. • A series of episodes or short informative media files. • Can be downloaded through the internet (ie. Itunes, Zune, etc.) • Podcaster is the person who creates the content
Google Talk…. • Google Talk (GTalk) is a free Windows and web-based application for instant messaging and voice over internet protocol (VOIP), offered by Google Inc. The first beta version of the program was released on August 24, 2005.
Twitter… • Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. • Limited to 140 characters.
Magic Jack… • Phone access over the internet . • Unlimited amount of calls over the computer. • Ten dollars a month. • Downfall is that is slows down the computer you are hooked up to.
Skype… • Is a software application that allows users to make voice calls over the Internet. Calls to other users of the service and, in some countries, to free-of-charge numbers, are free, while calls to other landlines and mobile phones can be made for a fee.
Webcast… • A webcast is a media file distributed over the Internet using streaming media technology. A webcast may either be distributed live or on demand. Essentially, webcasting is “broadcasting” over the Internet.
