Ballot Question • Shall there be an amendment to the Colorado constitution applying the term “person” as used in the those provisions of the Colorado constitution relating to the inalienable rights, equality of  justice, and due process of law, to every human being from the beginning of the biological development of that human being?

Intentional Harm- Support Groups • Choosing to physically remove a fetus from the mother’s body • This is included under inalienable rights • Support groups use this intentional act as evidence that abortion violates a person’s rights by causing intentional harm to them. • This would includes any procedures, pills, or medical care that may harm a “person” from conception

9. Opposition • Most pro-choice groups are against the amendment • Most Democrats • Opposition says it would take away a woman’s freedom to have control over her body • Would hinder stem cell research • Would “stretch” the limitations of the law

Unintentional harm • If Amendment 62 should pass it would be pushing the boundaries of the law • It would put medical professionals at a liability • Treat a woman; damaging an unborn child • Would the law apply to a woman who harms a baby by smoking, neglecting to buckle up, alcoholism, or any other physical neglect? • In other words what are the limitations of the law?
