  1. Three types of services provided by automobile garages This article discusses the type of car services rendered by garages, namely, interim car service, oil and filter service, and major service. Additionally, it discusses what is included in different types of services, while focusing on the distinguishing factor. For optimum functioning of a car, taking a car to a service centre is just as important as for us to visit or consult a doctor for proper health. A car service provider, in that sense, is no less than a doctor, who checks, diagnose problems, and then prescribe a solution to the problem. A service centre helps you maintain a safe car, and keep it roadworthy while protecting cars from potential failures. Typically, a showroom, be it an MG showroom in Birmingham or a Bentley one in London, render three types of services, which most often than not overlap with MOT test under the country’s regulations. Interim Car Service In a typical interim service, also known as basic service, oil, as well as filter, is changed, which are the most crucial factor for the smooth running of a car, without any damage to the engine and its performance. Along with oil change, a visual inspection of more than 35 key car parts is a standard procedure. The oil change and visual inspection ensure that a car remains in the best condition prescribed by a manufacturer. Many good dealers or garages, regardless of location or brand, be it MG dealer in Birmingham or Rover service dealer cum provider in Brighton, also make sure that brakes work fine, and check manufacturer’s guidelines to recommend supplementary work, if any, a car requires. Standard Oil and Filter service As the name implies, in this service oil and filter are replaced only. Under the service, a garage is not responsible for checking the brakes, as well other fluid, including brake oil, washer fluid, steering fluid and antifreeze. However, if a car has been running for long without service, a service provider may recommend a full-fledged service, and based on user’s discretion further work is done if MOTs requirements are met. Major Service After a car has run for 40,000 km, it usually goes through a major service, where almost every part of the vehicle goes through visual inspection, and engine performance, along with subsidiary

Parts they usually that encounter wear and tear are examined for performance, and if found weary are changed after approval of the car owner. Along with such services, many showrooms come garages, such as MG showroom in Birmingham, also act as a MOT test centres, where cars can be checked for roadworthiness, and emission of a vehicle is tested. Once conforming to the standards, a certificate is issued, which ensures that a car is safe for the road.
