  8. Law 1: INERTIA OF REST • An object at rest will stay at rest until acted upon by an UNBALANCED FORCE. • Possible unbalanced forces: Tiger Woods, the wind

  9. Law 1: INERTIA OF MOTION • An object in motion will stay at the same speed, moving in the same direction unless an unbalanced force acts upon it. • Possible unbalanced forces: water, gravity
