  2. Rounding Decimals To round a decimal, first underline the digit to be rounded. Then look at the digit to the right of the place being rounded. • If the number is 5 or above, give the number underlined a shove. • If the number is 4 or below, leave the number underlined alone.

  3. Rounding Decimals Round 1.324 to the nearest whole number. 1.324 Round 99.96 to the nearest tenth. 99.96

  4. Examples • A bag of potato chips costs $0.2572 per ounce. How much is this to the nearest cent?
