1. Defining Sexual Harassment • Sexual harassment refers to the uninvited behavior which affects employment, creates a fearful or offensive workplace, and interferes with the work performance of an individual. • Harassment behavior: visual, verbal, or physical harassment of a sexual desire. • This harassment may occur in the work environment or outside your work environment

Stopping The Harassment Sexual harassment in the workplace can be prevented using following ways: • Try to stop the harasser as soon as possible if you feel that you are being harassed. • If the harassment does not stop then try to follow the reporting and complaint steps mentioned in your workplace anti-harassment policy. • If no such policy exists then also you must talk to a supervisor, manager, or human resource professional at your workplace.
3. Promoting A Harassment-Free Environment • If you observe anyone indulging in harassment, try to stop him or put management on notice of the harassment. • Educate members with a clear explanation of prohibited conduct. • Encourage members to speak up about harassment
If the employer provides anti-harassment training, get union officers, representatives and members included or provide union-sponsored training. • If the employer is conducting an investigation that involves union members, make sure members are aware of their right to representation.
