  2. HEARING TEST Hearing impairment is also known as hearing loss which means partial or total inability to hear. Hearing impairment has wide effects on your health, so getting a baseline hearing test and annual follow-up exams can help you catch it early. The purpose of a test for hearing impaired is to determine not only if you have a loss of hearing, but how mild or severe it is. Hearing screening will help you identify the ability of the hearing problem.

  3. Hearing Tests in Adults Hearing screenings are painless and non-invasive.Audiologist will ask you to wear headphones or soft ear plugs wires connected to an instrument called an audiometer that is used to conduct the test. • Pure Tone Audiometry test • Speech Audiometry Test

  4. Types of Hearing Test for Infants There are two types of Hearing Tests for infants • Otoacoustic emission (OAE) screening • Automated auditory brainstem response(ABR)

  5. Hearing Test for Young Children Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA): Audiologist perform the hearing screening for the children who are above the age of 6 months. It takes advantage of an infant’s reflexive head turn toward the sound. Play Audiometry Test :This test is for toddlers or preschool children. In this test parent or assistant train child to respond to any sound. Behavioral Observation Audiometry (BOA) :This test is for babies under seven months of age. BOA consists of making noises such as shaking a rattle nearby and then observing the child’s response.

  6. Online Hearing Test Today’s technology is too advance to provide online hearing exam for adults, students as well as military people. There are generally two types of audiometry tests: • Some use audio samples to determine a range of hearing impaired. • Some ask questions to determine if you’re having enough trouble to see a hearing healthcare professional.

  7. Rinne and Weber test for Hearing Loss There are many other methods can be used to evaluate hearing. The single most common office test is a Tuning Fork Tests called the Rinne and Weber Tests. A Rinne test compares air-conduction and bone-conduction hearing. Air-conduction hearing occurs through the air near the ear, and bone-conduction hearing occurs through vibrations. A Weber test determines whether an issue is conductive or sensorineural hearing impairment. Conductive hearing loss occurs when sound waves unable to pass through the inner ear. Sensorineural hearing loss occurs when auditory nerves or hair cells are damaged in the inner ear.
