Rico is a third generation master Blender, a manufacturer of cigars and tobacco from Colombia, immigrated to the U.S. with his family in 1988. After several years of hard work he managed to impose himself on the tobacco industry, selling its own tobacco to the cigar manufacturers during theCigar Boom in the USA in the 90's. His business was so successful that he has the opportunity to open his own company for cigar manufacturing in Danli, Honduras, in 1995. Rico realizes that the only way to create a perfect cigar is using the best raw material in the tobacco world. So in 1997 he began to grow tobacco in Dzhalapa, Nicaragua, where handles 400-acre of land per year, divided into five farms. Each farm is named after a different region of Colombia: Finca, Guacamaya, Acacias, Santa Marta and Guajira. In these farms Ricogrows from Cuban seeds cigars Habano and Corojo, using the traditional methods of Cuban cigar manufacturers. After many years of hard labor in Nicaragua, Rico is expanding its tobacco business in Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico and Colombia.
