  1. State Bank of India (SBI) is the most reputed banking sector. If you are one among the person looking to work in the banking sector then SBI is the right one to choose. In State Bank of India (SBI), Probationary Officer (PO) jobs are most reputed ones and have huge opportunities to set up the right career. The Probationary officers not only hold well-respected position but they are also entitled to various perks and allowances. Currently, SBI has released the notification for SBI PO recruitment 2019 for filling up 2000 vacancies. So if you are willing to apply for these vacancies, then the major point you must be aware of is the SBI PO eligibility and the selection process. So here is the detailed explanation of SBI PO Eligibility and its selection process. SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 1. Nationality •SBI PO Application Form 2019 can be filled only by Indian citizens. •However, there are no domicile rules applicable. •Candidates of Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan Refugees can also apply. •A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can also apply. 2. Age Limit •State Bank of India has set a certain age limit for candidates willing to fill the application form. •All the candidates must be between 21 years to 30 years of age as on April 1, 2019. •Candidates who have born not earlier than 02.04.1989 and not later than 01.04.1998 (both days included) are considered eligible. However, there is also a provision of age relaxation as per the constitutional Affirmation policy. •The upper age of candidates is relaxed depending on their category. below is the relaxation criteria for candidates from reserved categories oSC/ST- 5 years oOBC (Non-creamy layer) - 3 years oPwD (SC/ST)- 15 years oPwD (OBC) - 13 years oPwD (General) - 10 years oEx-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs), Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) who have worked for not less than 5 years in the military and have left on the conclusion of the project - 5 years oOriginal candidates of Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period ranging from 01 January 1980 to 31st December 1989 - 5 years 3. Educational Qualifications

  2. •Candidate must have agraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government •An applicant who is in the Final Year or final semester of his Graduation is also considered eligible to apply for SBI PO 2019. •Candidates in their final year can apply only under the condition that, if called for an interview, the candidate has to produce proof of having passed their graduation on or before August 31, 2019 •Candidates who have an Integrated Dual Degree certificate must make sure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before August 31, 2019 •A candidate who possesses the qualification of Chartered Accountant is also eligible to apply for SBI PO 4. Number of Attempts •The number of attempts in SBI PO 2019 is decided as per the category of the candidate. Below is the number of attempt for each category oGeneral - 4 oPwD (General) - 7 oOBC - 7 oOBC (PwD) - 7 oSC/ST(PwD) / ST (PwD) - No restriction •Candidates who have already exhausted the maximum chances are ineligible to apply. •The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on and after 18.04.2010. •Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance. SBI PO Selection Process The SBI PO Exam is conducted in three stages: Stage 1: SBI PO Preliminary Exam Stage 2: SBI PO Main Exam Stage 3: Group Exercise and Interview Below is the explanation of each stage in detail. Go through it carefully to know about the selection process. Stage 1: SBI PO Preliminary Exam - The SBI PO Preliminary exam is an objective type test and is conducted for a one-hour duration. The exam consists of 3 sections having a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. For each wrong answer, there is a negative marking of 0.25. In order to qualify for the SBI PO Mains, it is required for the candidates to clear the sectional as well as the overall cut off marks for Prelims. Check SBI PO Books

  3. Stage 2: SBI PO Mains Exam - SBI PO Mains has two sections that include Objective and Descriptive. Objective section is of 200 marks and Descriptive section carries 50 marks. Both of these tests are taken online. A descriptive test will take place right after the completion of the objective test on the same day. The SBI PO Mains objective test is of 3 hours duration and consist of 4 sections carrying a total of 200 marks. The objective test has separate timings for every section. stage 3: SBI PO Group Exercise and Interview- Selection for the Group Exercises and Interview will be based on a category-wise merit list. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the category wise vacancies will be shortlisted for the Group Exercise and Interview from the top of the category wise merit list subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score. 20 marks are allotted for Group Exercises and 30 marks for the Interview. Candidates qualifying for Group Exercises and Interview under the ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non-Creamy layer’ clause. Final Selection •The marks obtained in the Prelims Exam will not be added for preparing the final merit list for selection. •Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination, including both from the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in Group Exercise and Interview for preparing the final merit list. •The candidates will have to qualify both in the Prelims and Mains exam separately. •Marks secured by the candidates in the Main Examination (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 marks and marks secured in the Group Exercise & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25 marks. •The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating (out of 100) converted marks of Main Examination and Group Exercise & Interview. •The final selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
