  1. CHAPTER 7 Configuring Cisco Unified CME Voice Productivity Features CCNA Voice 640-461 Cert Guide

  2. Configuring a Voice Network Directory: • Create a name to appear on the screen to indicate line using the Router(config-ephone-dn)#label command • Create a name to appear in the phone directory using the Router(config-ephone-dn)#name command Router(config)#ephone-dn 20 Router(config-ephone-dn)#name Joshua Bellman Router(config-ephone-dn)#label Joshua Bellman Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 21 Router(config-ephone-dn)#name Ruth Hopper Router(config-ephone-dn)#label Ruth Hopper Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 24 Router(config-ephone-dn)#name Samuel Oldham Router(config-ephone-dn)#label Samuel Oldham Router(config-ephone-dn)#end

  3. Configuring a Voice Network Directory: • Configuring buttons to ephone-dn’s • Configuring the order of names in directory Router(config)#ephone 1 Router(config-ephone)#button 1:21 2:22 Router(config-ephone)#ephone 2 Router(config-ephone)#button 1:22 2:23 Router(config-ephone)#ephone 3 Router(config-ephone)#button 1:23 2:21 Router(config-ephone)#telephony-service Router(config-telephony)#directory last-name-first Router(config-telephony)#directory entry 1 1599 name Corporate Fax Router(config-telephony)#reset all Router(config-telephony)#end

  4. Configuring Call Forwarding: • Forward all calls • Forward if busy • Forward max-length • Forward night-service • Forward no answer • Forward all calls on either line if it is a dual-line ephone-dn regardless of phone status • Forward calls only if line is in use. Call waiting will still function if it is a dual-line ephone-dn • Allow only a maximum number of digits when forwarding a call (extension length). Stops call transfer from outside to inside to outside

  5. Configuring Call Forwarding continued: • Forward all calls to a night service attendantRouter(config-ephone-dn)#call-forward night-service 98251000 • Forward calls after a set time (number of rings) to another extension (use “timeout” command) Router(config-ephone-dn)#call-forward noan 1502 timeout 25 • Forward all calls if busy Router(config-ephone-dn)#call-forward busy 1502 • Note: “1502” may be an answering machine or another extension.

  6. Configuring Call Forwarding continued: • Router(config-telephony)#call-forward pattern [sequence] • This command allows you to enter a pattern for numbers that will support the H.450.3 call forwarding standard. • The use of H.450.3 will stop the condition of “hairpinning” • Router(config-telephony)#call-forward pattern 15.. Tells the CME that all numbers of four digits that starts with 15 to support H.450.3

  7. Configuring Call Transfer: • Full-consult: H.450.2 / SIP call transfers using a second line if available, fallback is Full-blind if unavailable • Local-consult: Works as Full-consult but is Cisco proprietary • Full-blind: Forward without consult using H.450.2 or SIP • Can be configured globally or locally • Configure transfer pattern to limit call forwarding Router(config)#telephony-service Router(config-telephony)#transfer-system full-consult Router(config-telephony)#ephone-dn 2 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#transfer-mode full Router(config-ephone-dn)#telephony-service Router(config-telephony)#transfer-pattern 5… Router(config-telephony)#transfer-pattern 9………..

  8. Configuring Call Park (On-Hold): • Can use any unused ephone-dn slots • Can be set to use specific ephone-dn slots Router(config)#ephone-dn 50 Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 3000 Router(config-ephone-dn)#name Maintenance Router(config-ephone-dn)#park-slot Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 51 Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 3001 Router(config-ephone-dn)#name Engineering Router(config-ephone-dn)#park-slot timeout 60 limit 10 recall

  9. Configuring Call Park (On-Hold): • Options for the park-slot option: • reserved-for: can be reserved for the directory number entered • timeout: number of seconds CME waits before notification that a call is still parked • limit: limits the number of timeout intervals after which the call is disconnected • notify: notifies a different dn in addition to the originating dn that the call is parked when the timeout period is reached • only: used with the notify command to specify that only the specified dn will be notified and not the originator when the timeout is reached • recall: causes the call to return to the original phone that parked the call after the timeout period has expired • transfer: causes the call to transfer to a specific dn after the timeout period has expired • alternate: allows the call to be transferred to an alternate dn should the first be in use • retry: sets the amount of times CME should cycle through the timeout period attempting to transfer the call

  10. Configuring Call Park (On-Hold): • To answer a parked call: • Dial directly into the parked slot • Press the PickUp softkey and dial the park number • From the parking phone press the PickUp softkey and press the * to recall the parked call

  11. Configuring Call Pickup: • When staff is limited (nights, weekends, holidays) one phone may pickup calls for multiple extensions Router(config)#ephone-dn 1 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5509 Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 2 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5509 Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 3 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5509 Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 4 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5510 Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 5 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5510 Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 6 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#pickup-group 5510

  12. Configuring Intercom: • Can broadcast out to many phones in the group using the speakerphone (example: “Mr. Clark you have a call on 6000.”) • Can be configured for a speed-dial number using a character that cannot be dialed (A100) or a dial able extension (7777). Router(config)#ephone-dn 80 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#number A100 Router(config-ephone-dn)#intercom A101 label “Manager” Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 81 dual-line Router(config-ephone-dn)#number A101 Router(config-ephone-dn)#intercom A100 label “Assistant” Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone 1 Router(config-ephone)#button 2:80 Router(config-ephone)#reset Router(config-ephone)#ephone 2 Router(config-ephone)#button 2:81 Router(config-ephone)#reset

  13. Configuring Intercom continued: • Options: • barge-in: Places any existing call on hold and proceeds to use intercom function • no-auto-answer: Causes the phone to ring rather then auto-answer on speakerphone • no-mute: Causes the intercom to answer with un-muted speakerphone rather then muted

  14. Configuring Paging: • Can group together phones in a paging group or multiple groups • Uses speakerphone to broadcast message Router(config)#ephone-dn 80 Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 5555 Router(config-ephone-dn)#paging Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone-dn 81 Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 5556 Router(config-ephone-dn)#paging Router(config-ephone-dn)#ephone 1 Router(config-ephone)#paging-dn 80 Router(config-ephone)#ephone 2 Router(config-ephone)#paging-dn 80 Router(config-ephone)#ephone 3 Router(config-ephone)#paging-dn 81 Router(config-ephone)#ephone 4 Router(config-ephone)#paging-dn 81 Router(config-ephone)#ephone-dn 82 Router(config-ephone-dn)#number 5557 Router(config-ephone-dn)#paging-group 80,81

  15. Configuring Paging continued: • Dial 5555 for group 80 • Dial 5556 for group 81 • Dial 5557 for both groups
