Supervision Accountability & Support
INTRODUCTION Where are we and what comes NEXT?
The time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 2 Timothy 4:4 We are here. And what comes NEXT?
What comes NEXT is (likely) • More of the Same • …but on steroids • Human Nature • Is not becoming more corrupt • Is finding more opportunity
What comes NEXT is (likely) • An increasingly godless culture • Morally Bankrupt • No Recognized Authority God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him. You are not immune!
Rebellion lives in the human heart. When you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God…
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them. Romans 1:28-32
…To identify SUPERVISION, ACCOUNTABILITY and SUPPORT as gifts of God in the context of our ongoing human rebellion and, …To encourage a more intentional reliance upon these gifts in whatever comes NEXT.
