  3. WHAT IS CAR? • Law 12.651/2012 – “New” Forest Code • The Rural Environmental Registry – CAR: • National level • Mandatory for all rural properties • Database for: • - control and monitoring; • - environmental and economic planning • - support to combat deforestation.
