  1. 3 Meshing Scenarios • Create new geometry • Modify existing geometry • Modify existing mesh

  2. Start Define geometry requirements Define analysis requirements Create Geometry Verify geometry Modify geometry, if needed For CFD Analysis, extract the core/negative volume For durability Analysis, define One-Push meshing parameters, if needed or export CAD as IGES Export geometry as STL or IGES Import native Pro-E files into Simlab or TSV-Pre. Import IGES into CATIA Choose mesh scheme & create Surface mesh & Solid Mesh (if needed) Mesh the geometry, cleanup & export mesh as a nastran mesh Modify the mesh in Hypermesh if needed. Save as *.hm or *.bdf file End

  3. Start Retrieve existing geometry from Intralink Define geometry requirements Define analysis requirements Clean geometry, if needed Verify & Modify geometry, if needed For CFD Analysis, extract the core/negative volume For durability Analysis, define One-Push meshing parameters, if needed or export CAD as IGES Export geometry as STL or IGES Import native Pro-E files into Simlab or TSV-Pre. Import IGES into CATIA Choose mesh scheme & create Surface mesh & Solid Mesh (if needed) Mesh the geometry, cleanup & Export mesh as a nastran mesh Modify the mesh in Hypermesh If needed. 4. Start Get existing mesh as a Nastran or Abaqus file Define analysis requirements Import mesh into Hypermesh Clean or refine mesh or add or remove material Save as *.hm or *.bdf file End
