DNSSEC Workshop Planning BOF Internet2/ESNet Joint Techs College Station TX, Feb 2-4, 2009Joe St Sauver, Ph.D. Manager, Internet2 Security Programs(joe@uoregon.edu or joe@internet2.edu) http://www.uoregon.edu/~joe/dnssec-workshop-planning/
Background/Purpose • Internet2 did a workshop survey at the Fall Member Meetingwhich was also available online throughout the rest of 2008 • DNSSEC was suggested as a possible workshop topic by many • We’d like to get a sense of interest in such a workshop from a larger group, and we’re also interested in the nature of the content you’d like to see in the workshop’s curriculum • We also wanted to make sure you knew about the DNSSEC group which has been having periodic conference calls on Thursdays and which has met from time to time at various Internet2 events; if you’d like to be added to that list:Send e-mail to <sympa@internet2.edu> with the SUBJECT LINE: subscribe dnssec FirstName LastName e.g. subscribe dnssec Jane Doe
Some Questions for Discussion (1) Do people think this is a good topic for a workshop? (2) What is the main content that needs to be delivered? An overview/benefits of the technology? Technical training? (3) Given the answer to (2), who should be the target audience? (4) Would you or an appropriate individual at your institution be interested in attending? (5) Would you be willing to participate on a program committee to help develop the curriculum?
Some Questions for Discussion (2) (6) Would you be willing to be an instructor, if appropriate? (7) Should this workshop be appended to another meeting to minimize travel costs? If so, what meeting? Internet2 Member Meeting? A future Joint Techs? Some other meeting? Please also be sure to sign in on today’s attendance sheet Please indicate if you’d like to be added to the regular DNSSEC mailing list, or if you’d like to be part of the program committee (there will be a separate list for that activity)
