The Bog Turtle. • Habitats: calcareous (limestone) fens, sphagnum bogs, and wet, grassy pastures that are characterized by soft, muddy substrates (bottoms) and perennial groundwater. • Omnivorous : • Aquatic plants. • Seeds. • Berries. • Insects. • Frogs. • Hibernate through winter. • Home Range : 3.16 (Ac). • Mating season : Late April to early June. • Females can reproduce at ten years. • Lay one to ten eggs. • Reproduce every year. • Said to live up to 20-30 years. • Total Population : Unknown. • Feature that makes the Bog Turtle distinct is the yellow/orange spots on its neck.
