  2. Introduction • Voice activated systems are used for: • Helping disabled people • Hands free use of cell phone • Dictation • Any other system that would benefit from voice activated control • Our objective: to build a voice activated home automation system for extra convenience WJK

  3. Our Concept • Voice Activated System to control general household appliances • TV, Lights, Radio, etc. • System consists of: • Central control system • Permanent microphones (in each room) • Handheld device (optional extra) WJK

  4. System Overview • Voice captured through microphones in each area of house or handheld device • Signal sent to central control unit • The sound signal is processed and corresponding appliance activated AM
