Background Information • Jenzabar CX (formerly CARS) and NTS (Non-Traditional System) school • Use DBCC’s homegrown (C++ Builder) FASTER compliant software for sending electronic transcript requests, receiving and evaluating transcripts, and sending requested transcripts from other schools • Use non-standard protocols and home grown software (C) to receive electronic test scores
FASTER transcripts • Added Informix (CX is Informix-based) temporary tables to hold incoming and outgoing requests, and incoming transcripts. • Received transcripts are automatically evaluated according to CX course equivalency rules for the particular school and course • Once reviewed the transcript is moved to the CS permanent database
FASTER transcripts • Outgoing requests are currently created manually – we are in the process of automating requests based upon a received admissions application • Transcript evaluations have gone from 2 weeks to 1 day • Manual management of missing transcripts has all but disappeared • All transactions are transferred through DOE
