When Submitting Samples • PDM and FA’s • Samples submitted should have all appropriate paperwork. • Analyticals for FA's • Periodics • Please double check that the samples to be shipped and the paperwork submitted coincide. • Remember to identify if samples are USDA Local Replenishment. • Please double check that paperwork states appropriate type of samples being submitted.
When Submitting Samples cont’d • Please double check that the correct contract # is cited on the paperwork. • When emailing notification of samples sent, please be sure to identify the following: • Company • Type of Sample • Remember to identify name of intended recipient on box to differentiate samples intended for Sensory Evaluation versus for Project Officer Evaluation.
Some samples are submitted in inappropriate size, weight boxes; please keep boxes equal to or less than 40 pounds. MRE cartons and fragile products can become crushed and broken when boxes are overfilled, please do not over pack. Oversized and Over packed Boxes
UGR-A Samples Submitted • Please be sure that control is sent in with sample. • Please check that the sample is appropriate for or similar to its control. • Please send notification email once samples have been shipped.
Installation of Computers • As of July 07’ we have installed and started conducting our panels using laptop computers with SIMS 2000 (Sensory Information Management System), sensory evaluation and data processing software. • This has helped to reduce turn around time on analyzing data and reporting to DSCP.
