Parternes rolle i eventen While the assessment of economic impact remains a key concern of this study, there was a shared recognition among the Festivals and the commissioning stakeholders of the need for a more rounded assessment of the value of the Festivals. This study therefore set out to take a ‘360 degree’ approach to assessing impact that considers social, cultural, environmental and media aspects, in addition to the economic effects. The research thus enables the Festivals to demonstrate their value to a much wider range of stakeholders across Scotland and beyond. A further key objective was to develop a repeatable method that is owned by the Festivals themselves, in the form of a new impact assessment framework and data collection process. It has been widely quoted throughout the national and international press we have hosted here in the lead up to August. As you rightly guessed, it has become a very useful tool in our conversations with sponsors and other public organisations we seek to work closely with. Currently we are planning to do further publicity of the study throughout international arts and festivals conferences and networks.
