Design and performance - Got rid of the black bar in home screen - Custom size of tiles 1x1 - 4x2 - Still not able to change standard keyboard - ”Word Flow” to ”ease” writing
Contacts and communication - ”Together” (contact groups finally) - Groups as People Hub - ”Rooms” (somewhat like G+ Circles) - Skype wasn't available for now - Mix of pleasant surprises and frustrations
Office, OneNote, and SkyDrive • A lot of small tweaks e.g. Excel supports charts • All the files are easy to find in SkyDrive • Easier than iCloud apparently • OneNote is really useful
- Mobile payments with Wallet app and NFC - Possibility to set up a PIN code for making payments - Third party apps should be supported but none were available Wallet and NFC
Maps and Bing - Practically Nokia Maps on all WP8 devices - Fails in a few key areas (bad usability in getting directions and no way of getting info from the map's points of interest) - Offline worldwide maps available
Xbox - SmartGlass! -
Xbox - Zune is removed, instead only Xbox now - Excellent selection of music, not so in movies
Internet Explorer 10 - ”Better than expected” - Finally able to find text in page - Still only 6 tabs open at the same time - Isn't based on webkit which is a problem in mobile web
Camera - Easier to use 3rd party apps - No Instagram though :( - Some tweaks, some good some for worse
