Mortlake Inference: Unknown suspects are committing offences for personal or financial gain in Mortlake Context:A cluster of offences still continues in the area between Lower Richmond Road and Upper Richmond Roadaccounting for5%(20)of all crime recorded within the last two weeks for Richmond Borough Busiest roads were Mortlake High Street and Sheen lane (3 each). The main crime type here was residential burglary (8) which took place between Thursday and Sunday mainly during the day by FORCE or SMASH front door of flats and houses, red MG convertible stolen from one address not yet recovered. However offences may reduce in this area due to the arrest of a female and male suspect on Saturday 15/12/2012
Sainsburys 303 Uxbridge Road Inference: ST CLARES SAINSBURYS is believed to be an easy venue to commit offences in by opportunist and habitual thieves in an area which would not normally attract police attention Context:ST CLARES SAINSBURYS is a large supermarket with its own car park and petrol station, serviced by 3 bus routes in a quite residential area located within 5 minutes driving distance of the A316 allowing easy access into central London and out onto the M3, and M25 ST CLARES SAINSBURYS has been a victim of crime since its opening. The majority of crime at ST CLARES SAINSBURYS is shoplifting, followed by making off without payment Both crime types occur throughout the week peaking between 1300-1900 hours Fortnightly Intelligence Assessment: 4 offences have occurred at Sainburys within the last two weeks, 2 Making Off Without Payment, 2 Shoplifting E/T Mon-Sun task to Sainsburys Hampton
Theft of BMW's Inference: Organised criminals are stealing BMW vehicles overnight for financial gain Context: Identified in October 2011 (TWRT00197244) and continuing on and off since, organised criminals have developed a way to steal modern BMW vehicles without the keys. Cars stolen from TW have not come to notice in other offences and don't hit ANPR cameras. A small number have been recovered in North London. It is assumed, based on recovery locations of other BMWs stolen in the MPS that they are heading to docks such as Felixstowe for exportation. Since 01/04/2012 95 BMW cars have been taken accounting for 62% of the total of 154 cars taken Fortnightly Intelligence Assessment:Theft of BMW'S continues with3 BMW's taken in the last two weeks compared to 5 for the previous fortnight The 3 BMW's taken were 323, 335 and a X5 from Barnes, Mortlake and St Margarets. One was recovered in Surrey when the tracker was activated and the other was recovered after the victim's friend saw it advertised on Gumtree Also three good arrests were made after one a prolific offender from Hillingdon who was in company with two others both from outside London were seen trying car doors in Kew Road car park and a blank BMW car key was found nearby
Richmond Town Centre Inference: RTC is a large affluent shopping centre with a mix of high-end and common high street stores, restaurants, pubs and open spaces and will continue to attract crime in turns of thefts, ASB and assaults Fortnightly Intelligence Assessment: 6% (24) of all crime occurred in the area of Richmond Town Shoplifting (8) then Other Theft (7) were the most recorded offences for this area. Tuesday and Thursday were the peak days both with 7 incidents each George Street is the main road for offences with 10 offences, then The Quadrant (3), Kew Road, Duke Street and Parkshot (2 each). Repeat venues were Carphone Warehouse (4), and Starbucks and Tesco (2 each). 92% (22) offences took place during the Day Time Economy peaking between 1500-1730 hours
Twickenham Town Centre Inference: TTC is the 2nd largest town centre on the borough which with its mix of shops, pubs, restaurants, and main line railway station that is within easy walking distance of nearby Richmond College and Twickenham Stadium will attract opportunist and habitual offenders Context:Twickenham is the 2nd largest town on the borough with a small variety of shops, restaurants, pubs, and businesses, populated during the week by office workers, students, local residents and employees and at the weekends by large crowds when events take place at Twickenham Stadium which makes it attractive for opportunist and habitual thieves to commit shoplifting and other theft during the day, and public order offences, assaults and other theft during the evening - usually when victims or suspects are under the influence of drink Upcoming fixtures at Twickenham are Harlequins v London Irish Saturday 29 December Fortnightly Intelligence Assessment:4% (19) of all crime occurred in the area of Twickenham Town London Road (4), York Street and King Street (3 each) were the busiest roads Saturday (6) then Sunday (4) were the busiest days Peak time was between 1200-1500 and 0001-0230 hrs Theft related offences were the most recorded crime type, then criminal damage, 2 domestics and 2 assaults (in the street and at Village Pizza Delivery. Burger King recently opened on London Road
Teddington Town Centre Inference: Teddington is a small town with a selection of stores on the high street; including major chains such as Marks and Spencer, Starbucks and a myriad of boutique shops and restaurants Fortnightly Intelligence Assessment: 3% (14 offences) of all crime occurred in the area of Teddington Town A variety of theft offences occurred in in this area within the last two weeks including 1 ABH, 1 criminal damage and 1 racial harassment Broad Street (ABH and Shoplifting) and Station Road (burglary and theft of push bike) were the only repeat venues for offences which occur throughout the week and peak towards the weekend. More offences occurred during the Night than during the Day Time Economy
Reduced area – Heathfield, Whitton and West Twickenham Inference: Residential burglaries has deceased in the last two weeks across Whitton, Hearthfield and West Twickenham possibly due to road works on Hospital Bridge Road preventing easy access by transport Context:There was an increase in residential burglaries since 15/11/2012 with 1-3 being committed nearly every day in the TW2 postcode. If using transport they appear to be using the HOSPITAL BRIDGE ROAD, MONTROSE AVENUE and STAINES ROAD and the MEADWAY to quickly gain access to properties in adjoining side roads Times: between 1200-2000 hours peaking around 1700-1800 hours. Busiest days of the week have been Monday and Friday. MO FORCE rear doors and windows with tools sometimes taken from the the shed i.e spades and taking light electrical goods, TV's, bags, and jewellery. ASB levels from April-Nov 2012 is now level with the same period last year. Commentary Twickenham Riverside was the main ward for calls, with 53 85% of these calls were located in Twickenham TC. (this is up by 27% on Oct 2012) Main locations were around the bus stops near KFC on King Street, where groups of youths were causing disturbances and an isolated Mal Comms situation around Ferry Rd. The peak day was Thursday, 51% of incidents happened between 1200-2000 hrs (Unusual TC issues, sporadic disturbances.) South Richmond was second with 49 calls, the last time this ward was in second place was April 2012. 61% of ASB in this ward was confined to Richmond TC, with the usual locations at Richmond BR and the Quadrant, George St locations. The peak days were Friday and Saturday between 1600-2000 hrs. (Usual TC issues)) St Margarets was third with 38 calls, September was also quite busy for this ward. Firework related calls and youth disturbances seem to have been the problem in St Margarets, with the corridor north of Twickenham station and Moormead Gardens the main locations. Twickenham Stadium also saw a few incidents. The eastern end of the ward was quiet. Thursday, Friday and Saturday were the peak days, peak time was 1600-2000 hrs (Firework related calls,Rugby, Isolated Incidents) Heathfield was fourth ward with 35 calls. The majority of calls here were concerned with disturbances in the far west of the ward, involving vandalism on the Edgar Rd refurb and youth disturbances/vehicle disturbances,23% of calls related to the Edgar Rd issue. Friday was the peak day, peak time was 1600-2000 hrs (Specific site disturbances, Isolated Incidents))
