  8. Incoming Freshman Class • As of August 2nd, 456 of the 1077 freshmen were College of Liberal Arts and Sciences majors. • 42% of freshmen class

  9. Major Functions • LAS serves our own majors & minors. • LAS serves majors in other colleges by providing support courses. • LAS faculty teach a significant proportion of the credit hours in the Core Curriculum.

  10. Major Functions • LAS produces scholarship which raises the profile of Butler University & enhances student learning. • LAS faculty provide significant campus & community service.

  11. Goals • Create supportive, nurturing, collegial environment for all faculty & staff • Enhance sense of identity as a college • Raise profile of LAS internally & externally by sharing success stories
