Cervical Final Exam • All material is fair game • There will be x-rays on the exam • Cervicals (Lateral, APOM, A-P) • C1 lateral masses already measured • Thoracics (Lateral, A-P) • Lines will already be in place • Segments highlighted • Pedicle shadows highlighted
Cervical Final Exam • On the x-rays be able to determine • Listings on cervicals using line analysis • Listings on lateral thoracics using visual indicators of posteriority • Complete the listings on the A-P films
Cervical Final Exam • Review Cervical syndrome and the implications of an anatomically short leg (A.D. = anatomical deficiency). • Ie AD = Left 5.6 • Patient has short left leg today Cervical Syndrome findings may be dubious. • If legs equal today it is really a short right today.
Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation information and determine: • What level to adjust • Listing found • How to adjust
Cervical Final Exam • Knowing what levels each type of set up is appropriate for is important. • Also, what types of listings are appropriate for each type of set up. • For example: • C7 PL-L • Set ups that include the C7 level are DP, MTM, CC, DTH • DP & MTM are done on simple listings: P, PL, PLS • CC & DTH can be on simple or rotatory listings • So your options for the C7 PL-L are CC or DTH • DTH has no torque but CC does (I-S lift)
Cervical Final Exam • Use this information (level and type of listing for each set up) to help you eliminate some of the distractors that you have to choose from. • In the example of choose an adjustment for the C7 PL-L if your distractors include: SuDc, PDc, MTM, or DP, or MDP you would know that those are incorrect due to either level or listings being wrong for those choice.

Cervical Final Exam • Take spinal evaluation findings and correlate: • Usually more than one piece of information will be given that will point you in the right direction to the answer. • Highlight the important pieces of information in the question. • Write down or draw what is being described to help find the information you need.
