2. Date 00.00.00 Presentation title to go here 2 Share With Pain On the 28th March 2012 a member of Vital Rail sustained burns to the back of his hands when he came into contact with creosote while changing new wooden sleepers on the Reception line 1 at Old Oak Common.
We have checked with the suppliers and they are using creosote as a preservative on the sleepers.
This is the second occasion in the last two years where a member of staff sustained this type of injury.

You use the sleeper nips to move the sleepers into & out of the bed.
Protect your hands with Heavy Duty Nitrile Gloves.
Keep your skin covered at all times.
Wash your hands before Smoking & Eating.

Ingestion Do Not induce Vomiting.
Ingestion Give plenty of water in sips.
Eyes Irrigate with water for at least 15 minutes.
Skin Wash with Soap / Cleanser and rinse with water.
