1547 • He was born in September 29, 1547 (1547-09-19)Alcalà de Henares, Spain. • He was the fourth child of seven children in his family. • His dad was a surgeon; Rodrigo de Cervantes. • He was named Miguel because of the day he was born September twenty-ninth, After the saint day of which he was born on. • The only thing that has been found is his baptismal certificate, according to which he was baptized October 9, 1547, in the Church of Saint.
1569 • Cervantes moved to Italy, where he owned his own cat. • Miguel de Cervantes also served as a valet to GiulioAcquaviva a wealthy priest who was elevated to cardinal the next year.
1571 • Miguel de Cervantes became a soldier at the force of Naples, Italy • He took part in the sea battle at Lepanto. • While he was there he received a wound in the chest and another one that would permanently maimed his left hand.
1575 • He set out with his brother Rodrigo on the galley El Sol for Spain. • There ship was captured by the Turks and the brothers were taken to Algiers as slaves. • It is said he earned the nickname of El Manco de Lepanto (the cripple of Lepanto). When his health recovered he rejoined the army.
1580 • Miguel de Cervantes was a slave for five years. • He tried several escape attempts but all of them failed. • His family send ransom money that would release his brother and later release him.
1585 • In the year of 185 Miguel de Cervantes got married to his fiancé Catalina de Salazar. • In that same year Cervantes published a pastoral novel, La Galatea
1605- 1606 • 1605 immediate success of the first part of Don Quixote • Cervantes created a fictional origin for the story by creating a fictional Moorish chronicler for Don Quixote named CideHameteBenengeli. Published in two volumes • 1606 Cervantes settled permanently in Madrid, where he remained the rest of his life.
1613 and 1614 • In the year 1613 Miguel de Cervantes published a new novel the Novelasejemplares • In the year 1614 Miguel de Cervantes published another novel called the Viaje del Parnaso
1615 and 1616 • In 1615 he published his final novel Ochocomedias y ochoentremeses. • Finally Miguel de Cervantes died in April 23, 1616 (1616-04-24.) He died at the age of 68 in Madrid, Spain.
