About DP World Maputo DP World Maputo has the concession to manage, develop and operate the Maputo container terminal; this concession has been granted until 2043. • DP World - 60% • DP World, one of the largest global marine terminal operators in the world with 50 operating terminals in 28 countries, handled 50 million TEU in 2010; an increase of 14% against the prior year. With a pipeline of expansion and development projects in key growing markets, capacity is expected to rise to around 95 million TEU by 2020.
Introduction Back ground Information • 1994 CFM called for international tenders for the lease and management of the Maputo container Terminal • P&O PORTS, RENNIES GROUP and CFM signed an agreement and registered MIPS in February 1996 • RENNIES sold their shares to P&O PORTS • P&O PORTS was bought out by DP WORLD in 2006 • MIPS subsequently changed its name to DP WORLD MAPUTO in 2010.

Convert Maputo Container Terminal into a 1 million TEU performing terminal by 2020
Operational Objectives • Determined to transfer Maputo Container Terminal into a World Wide performing terminal. • Achieve by May 2011 • 17.5 BMPH and 10 GMPH • 30 min Truck turnaround time • Below 24hours Vessel waiting time • 24/7 gate availability to receive and deliver containers • Work towards acquiring the ISO 28000 security certificate • Evaluate and improve the company structure
Road Map • Complete refurbishment of the 2 ship to shore cranes • Purchase of a third Mobile Harbour Crane to assist during the refurbishment period and to train people on a later stage • Investing in new equipment i.e. Reach Stackers, Tractor Trailers, Empty Container Handlers, twin lift spreaders • Implementing a new Terminal Operating System that can support live update in order to track all container positions whether on the yard, vessel or gate. • Build a new IT infrastructure to support the new TOS in addition to new equipment installed on all machines.
Road Map • Start a new shift rotation based on 8hrs per shift instead of 12 • Increase the yard capacity by moving from 2 wide stacking to 4 wide stacking • Create a new yard strategy by segregating the yard by type of containers i.e. Export, Import, size, type, destination, etc... • Put in place our own transport solution in order to assist our employees getting home late at night or early in the morning. • Improve operations monitoring by introducing new supervisory level in ops hierarchy • Create Planning department, which is in charge of operating our TOS in addition to pre-plan all expected moves (vessel, yard, gate, and rail) on daily basis.

MICD • This project will be built in two phases as follows: • Phase one: • An empty container yard with the capacity of 2475 TEUs • A container wash bay • Container repair workshop • Refer inspection section • A bulk slab of 9000 m² • Completion target September 2011. • Phase two: • A full container yard with a capacity of 1040 TEUs • A warehouse of 11900m² • Completion target February 2012.
