Additional SMC O • Conditions entitling veteran to 2 or more SMC ratings (L thru N), with no condition being considered twice • Bilateral deafness rated 60% or more in combination blindness (5/200 or less) • Total deafness one ear or bilateral deafness 40% or more in combination with blindness (LPO) • Paralysis of both lower extremities together with loss of anal and bladder sphincter control.
SMC P Defined under 38 USC 1114(p): • ½ steps • Additional ½ step or whole step for additional disabilities (not considered in SMC rating) rated 50 % or 100%. • Criteria for evaluating loss or loss of use of three extremeties
SMC (r) (1) & 2 • Highest levels of SMC • For most severely disabled veterans
SMC Q • For a veteran receiving or entitled to receive compensation for tuberculosis on August 19, 1968. • $67 a month.
SMC S • The veteran has additional S/C disabilities rated as 60% or more, separate and distinct from a rated 100% disability • Veteran is permanently housebound by reason of S/C disabilities
