  2. Habitat: • Woods • Wetlands • North America • From Alaska to Maine

  3. Description: • Big and brown • Big antlers • Shoulders are bigger then a doorway • Can weigh one thousand pounds • Six feet tall • Teeth are only on bottom of jaw • Babies are only twenty-five to thirty-five pounds

  4. Adaption • They use long legs to eat • Females lower heads and ears and go to enemies • Long legs to help them run fast • Good eye sight • Good sense of smell • They close nostrils tight under water

  5. Food Chain: • Eat plants in marshes • Eat twigs, shrubs, tree bark, hay, leaves • They are herbivores • Eat juicy weeds, fresh ferns, waterlilies

  6. Interesting Facts: • One moose is heavier then four fridges altogether • In the summer moose eat 50 pounds each day • They use their big jaws to snap • Jaws are only on bottom of their mouth • They run 35 miles per hour • Cool off in beaver ponds

  7. Harm to Habitat: • Take their food • Make water gross • Kill too many moose
