  12. Maintenance • 1. Printing the System Data List (Menu -> 8.Report <System Data>) • Your machine can print the system data report shows the status of the user-selectable options. You may print this list to confirm your changes after changing any settings. • 2. Clearing Settings ( Menu -> 10.Maintenance <Clear Settings>) • You can selectively clear information stored in your machine’s memory. • 3. Cleaning the Drum ( Menu -> 10.Maintenance <Clean Drum>) • If there are streaks or spots on your print, You can clear the OPC drum of the cartridge.

Tech mode ( Service Mode ) => This information contained herein is for reference use only (Not for User) - Mode Change : Menu - Copies - Left - Right - Menu – Right (Fast execution is required ) - Data Setup : Value Setting that is not in User Mode - Machine Test : Checking the Machine state - Report : Information about set state • In tech mode, the technician can check the machine and perform various test to isolate the cause of a malfunction

Tech mode – Data Setup - Clear All Memory : Return to the factory default value - Clear Count : ( Total Page Counts, Platen Scan Counts – CRU Prints are not cleared on this menu) - Flash Upgrade : (Local – FW downloading through USB port) 4.2. Tech mode – Machine Test - Switch Test : Test keys for user interface - DRAM Test : Check the Dram condition - ROM Test : Show the version of Flash and Engine - Pattern Test : Print the defined patterns - Shading Test : Get the new shading profile by the shading Test 4.3. Tech mode – Report - System Data : The setting values in menu - Error Info :The error state (ex Paper JAM-0 , LSU Error etc)

  15. Maintenance 4.2 Machine Test 4.2.1. Switch test It can examine the operation status of each Keys/Buttons on Control Panel. Use this feature to test all keys on the operation control panel. The result is displayed on the window LCD window each time you press a key 4.2.2. DRAM test It can examine the DRAM which is mounted in Main PBA or Extension DIMM. Use this feature to test the machine's DRAM. The result appears in the LCD display. If all memory is working normally, the LCD shows << O K >> 4.2.3. ROM test Use this feature to test the machine's ROM. The result and the software version appear in the LCD display.

  16. Maintenance 4.2 Machine Test 4.2.4. Pattern test It is the function that prints the Image Files embedded in e-STUDIO180S for Print Quality examination. Using this pattern printout, you can check if the printer mechanism is functioning properly. It is needed in the production progress. Service person doesn't need to use it 4.2.5. Shading test The machine prints the report of Scanner status besides Scanner Calibration function in System Admin Tools. If the copy image quality is unsatisfied, perform the function to check the condition of the print out for checking whether or not having Scanner trouble.

  29. Maintenance • 1. Printing System Data Report (Menu -> 8.Report -> <System Data>) • Your machine can print the system data report shows the status of the user-selectable options. You may print this list to confirm your changes after changing any settings. • 2. Clearing Memory (Menu -> 0.Maintenance -> <Clear Memory>) • You can selectively clear information stored in your machine’s memory. 3. Cleaning the Drum (Menu -> 0.Maintenance - <Clean Drum>) • To maintain print and scan quality, follow the cleaning procedures

Maintaining the Toner Cartridge To get the most from the toner cartridge, keep the following guidelines in mind: • Do not remove the toner cartridge from its package until ready for use. • Do not refill the toner cartridge. The machine warranty does not cover damage caused by using a refilled cartridge. • Store toner cartridges in the same environment as your machine. • To prevent damage to the toner cartridge, do not expose it to light for more than a few minutes. 5. Ignoring the Toner Empty Message When the [Toner Empty] message appears you can continue printing except incoming faxes. But if you select “Ignore Toner – On” option, you can print incoming faxes also. ( Even though print quality is not optimal.) (Menu -> 2.Machine Setup -> Ignore Toner -> [On]

  35. Troubleshooting Preposition • In our TGIS labor we made with both MFP’s a life time test with around 60.000 Copies on each machine. After 60.000 copies we stopped the tests because expected Lifetime ends at around 50.000 copies. Both machines are still working without any problem. • 90% of all problems conveyed to the helpdesk are associated to the toner cartridge. The problems with the toner cartridge can be separate in 2 categories. 1. Image Quality, 2. Detection error. • The other 10% in conjunction with the Paper Quality ( dust ), dirt paper feeding roller and so on. • We expected that both MFP’s have a high reliability .
