  2. What Are Google Glasses? • Glasses developed by Google in the Project Glass development project. • Use smartphone-like hands free technology. • Google Glasses interact via voice commands.

  3. What Can They Do? • Features • 5 megapixel camera • 720p Video Capability • Wi-Fi • 12 GB usable memory 16GB flash Memory + Google Cloud Storage • Blutooth • GPS

  4. Who Are Google Glasses For? • Google is targeting their new glasses to anyone who is interested…but does that mean they are for everyone? • Things to Consider: • Price: $1,500 • Not for individuals who already wear glasses. • Easily damaged

Are Google Glasses Safe? • NBC News technology reports that “On a help page for its futuristic Glass headgear, Google is warning potential users that it may cause eye strain or a headache, and recommends that children under 13 should not use it.” • Many states are looking to ban the use of Google Glasses while driving.

  6. Are Google Glasses an Invasion of Privacy? • Some concerns have been raise about issues of privacy regarding Google Glasses due to: • Secret video recording • Secret photo taking • Secret voice recording • Google’s response to these claims: "We are not making any comment," -Google Spokesperson

Potential Issues? • People can use theses glasses to stalk other people. • Individuals could have photographs and video taken of them without their permission. • Google Glasses could increase a persons chances of being in an automobile accident. • Google Glasses could harm an individuals ocular development. • Some argue that Google Glasses violate no texting while driving laws.

  8. Potential Issues? Cont. • True to its name and making a point, the 5 Point Cafe in tech-forward Seattle has preemptively banned the device's use, while other opponents are gearing up for a political fight. “I actually like the idea of the product and I believe it is the future, but last legislature we worked long and hard on a no-texting-and-driving law,” said Republican Gary Howell, West Virginia, who is proposing a ban on the device.

  10. Summary Google Glasses • In conclusion Google Glasses are not a safe item as of now. They are a great idea but there needs to be better execution of the product. • There also needs to be certain policies in place to protect the right of privacy for everyone.
