  1. What is Canada's Agri-food Immigration pilot program? The Canadian government has launched a new pilot programme called the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot. Immigrate to Canada with the help of best immigration consultants in India for Canada. The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot is intended to provide non-seasonal Agri-food employees with the required qualifying experience in the Temporary Foreign Worker Program a path to permanent residency. The non-seasonal Agri-food worker must also have a legitimate job offer in "qualifying agri-food occupations and industries" to be eligible for the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot.

The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot was established in accordance with Section 14.1 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states: “14.1 (1) For the purpose of assisting the Government of Canada in achieving economic goals, the Minister may give instructions establishing a class of permanent residents as part of the economic class...” Each year, up to 2,750 principal applicants and their families will be admitted. Over the course of the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, which will continue until March 2023, a total of 16,500 potential permanent residents will be admitted into Canada. The Agri-Food Immigration Pilot was established in accordance with Section 14.1 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, which states: “14.1 (1) For the purpose of assisting the Government of Canada in achieving its economic goals, the Minister may give instructions establishing a class of permanent residents as part of the economic class...” Each year, up to 2,750 principle applicants will be accepted, along with their families. Over the course of the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, which will continue until March 2023, 16,500 potential permanent residents will be admitted into Canada. A two-year Labour Market Impact Assessment [LMIA] will be available to agricultural firms who participate in the Agri-Food Immigration Pilot. An LMIA is a document issued by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) that examines the impact of hiring an overseas-born national in Canada. The results of an LMIA might be either good or negative. A positive LMIA justifies the hiring of a foreign national since it shows that no Canadian permanent resident or citizen is available to fill the position.
