  7. Religion and belief of Gods • The Mayas had many gods and goddesses. They controlled every part of life from how the crops grew, to a person’s health to which city state

  8. The Ceremonial centers and the Rituals • They celebrated ceremonies in temples • The temples were built at the top of the pyramids.

  9. The Maya Calendar • The Maya had a calendar with 365 days. There were 18 months of 20 days each. 5 days were added at the end of the calendar year. Writers made calendar showing the days of farming.

  10. Mayan inventions • Mayan inventions include the calendar in a complicated hieroglyphics system.

  11. Mayas Architecture • Maya architecture spans many thousands of years; yet, often most dramatic and easily recognizable as Maya are the fantastic stepped pyramids from the Terminal Pre-classic period and beyond.
