Site History • Active from 1914 – 1925 • Zinc Smelter and Lead Roaster • Foundations and building footings remain • Private Residence 1935 - 2002
Impacted Areas • Green-Areas that do not require cleanup • Pink-Areas that require cleanup to prevent unacceptable exposure through soil, sediment, and surface water
Site Cleanup Goals • Site remediation goals are protective of human health and the environment • Impacts above the remediation goals will be addressed along with visual waste
Record of Decision • Issued November 2008 • The remedy is the consolidation and capping of soil, sediment, and waste
Proposed ROD Amendment • Groundwater impacts • No groundwater impacts • Eliminate state requirement or five foot separation • Treatability Study • Indicated treatment not feasible • Future Community Participation • Public comment period on proposed plan • Public notice and open house
