  2. We are going to be working on a poem about a woman called Salome. Salome is a lady from the Bible. She was a sexy young woman, who danced in a seductive/sexy way for her step-father. She asked him to bring her the head of John the Baptist.

  3. I’d done it before… woke up with a head on the pillow beside me - Salome:Look at the pictures and phrases and discuss what you expect the poem to be about.

  4. Good-looking, of course, dark hair, rather matted; the reddish beard several shades lighter

  5. …a beautiful crimson mouth… …which I kissed… Colder than pewter. Strange.

  6. - hungover and wrecked as I was from a night on the batter.

  7. I needed to clean up my act, get fitter, cut out the booze and the fags and the sex.

  8. …it was time to turf out the blighter… who’d come like a lamb to the slaughter to Salome’s bed .

  9. I flung back the sticky red sheets, and there… was his head on a platter.

  10. Salome is a very naughty lady! What advice would you give her to clean up her lifestyle?
