Overview (1) • TIA does not have a Technical Group specifically working on “Cyber Security.” • At TIA cyber security is just part of SECURITY and thus that technical area was covered in the TIA Contribution PLEN-008 on Security and Lawful Interception • However the issue of Cyber Security is currently a hot topic in USA, from Industry, Regulatory, and Legislative perspectives • www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Cybersecurity-event-fact-sheet-and-expected-attendees/ • www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-on-Securing-Our-Nations-Cyber-Infrastructure/ • www.whitehouse.gov/cyberreview/ • www.whitehouse.gov/assets/documents/Cyberspace_Policy_Review_final.pdf • Cyber security ties into several Standards Panels at ANSI that TIA and TIA members participate on such as the ANSI HSSP, ANSI IDSP, and ANSI HITSP from Security, ID Theft and Privacy Perspectives, and other initiatives in the USA such as “Smart Grid,” and Process Control or SCADA Systems.

  6. Next Steps/Actions Continue to monitor Cyber Security work in the various groups addressing the issues.
