  6. Healthy Homes • Our Country’s Surgeon General has released a Report on Healthy Homes available at HUD’s website. HUD and CDC are rapidly advancing this initiative. • Our section is working on gathering data and writing reports on our findings. • Bottom Line is that our interventions are working and we have the results that prove it!

  7. Enforcement • Our Section has doubled our enforcement capacity with in this past year with the addition of Jim Copeland. • Our emphasis has, and will continue to be, to ensure that the occupants of child-occupied facilities are protected and that the lead professionals we certify are abiding by our rules. • Dan will provide you with more of the details.

  8. Lead Hazard Control • We surpassed the number of homes to be abated in our current HUD award by17% by abating 338 verses 290 units. This was made possible by hard work, controlling costs and blending funds of homeowners, Landlords and other city, county and state agencies. • We now have made 1,650 homes lead safe.

  9. Lead Safe Housing Registry • The number of units and the information we are obtaining on each unit is increasing dramatically. Our notification forms have been modified to obtain this additional information. • A time is soon approaching where you may be able to add information directly to the registry as part of the notification process.

  10. Certifications • Numbers of most professionals have increased. • Exams are now run through the scoring machine. • I have asked Jay and Sonya to accelerate our efforts to allow for electronic application of new applications. • Jay and Sonya to provide more details…

  11. Thoughts Our industry has weathered the economic storm fairly well and there are many bright spots on the horizon. We have retained all staff and grown in the last year and certifications numbers have increased. Job opportunities are growing and within a year RRP will make a profound impact on this industry. The future is good for lead professionals….
