The climate in Tibet The climate is really cold. In july the temperatures are below -15ºC. It doesn't rain so much.
We live there • Hello, our names are Paula, Nuria and María, we live in Tibet.We have a pet, is a red panda called Sweet. Here life is so difficult, but you can survive. There are some important things about Tibet.
We get up in the morning and we have cereals for breakfast, we have a shower and our new day in Tíbet starts.We go for a walk on the mountains, later we go to the forest to find food for lunch.We find:Rice and vegetables to prepare Tibetan noodle soup, typical of Tíbet. After lunch we go to pray with Dalai Lama and to finish the day we have momo for dinner (is a typical food of Tíbet, is a kind of pasta stuffed with diferent ingredients).Then we go to bed. What clothing items do you usually wear for a winter like this? • We wear: • -Heavy coat of bear skin. • -Fat fur boots. • -Fur bonnet. • -Fur gloves. • -Fur trousers. • (All the clouthes that you need to wear here are made of thick leather fur)
What kind of food do you eat according to the season and the area you live in? • In the north,which is colder, eat more cereals because the cereals provide a concentrated energy that warms and helps combat casualties temperatures. In the south, where it is warmer, more vegetables, which cool the body and provide a more focused energy. In the mountains there is not much fruit. • How do you get your food: • -We milk cos to get milk and milk product. • -We go to the forest to pick up fruits and vegetables.

What´s your house like? • We are sedentarys. • In Tibet there are three diferents life styles. • NOMAD: These are shepherds and caravan travelers. • SEDENTARY: These are farmers who live in the South of the country and grow vegetables. • MONASTIC: One fourth of the men lived in monasteries before chinese invasion. Nowadays, they don't live there. • Do you know that they don't have surname? Just the famous people and the richs.
What non-clothing items would you purchase to get ready for this winter? You need boots for mud, glasses, lips cream, blankets for sleep warm and a lot of food.
-Fire places in every room, because the weather is freezing. -Shovels to there are quit the snow because it's always snowing. -A very big pantry because usually snowstorms, and you can't go out to find food, and you have to eat. What emergency/safety items do you have on hand to be ready for this winter?
Yes. The race of yaks: The sport in Tibetan. It is in the month of August in the fista Wangguo, people compete with their yaks to be the first. The fight: The two adversaries are Tibetan.and have to fight and strength with his hands. Meditation: Is a exercise that need concentrated attention on an external object, thought, awareness, concentration. We prefer indoor because it is more quiet, calm, relaxed and without fighting. Do you exercise? What sports do you do? Do you prefer to do it outdoors or indoors?
We go to visit temples and monaseries for pray,we decorate our house for the next festivals and we comply the traditions,we look after our pet,a red panda, we go to search food and we sometimes go to visit the mount Everest. We do some enjoy winter activities like make snowballs What do you do on your free time? What popular winter activities do you enjoy doing ?
We hear the sound of the birds singing,the wind,when its raining. We see the monastery of Lasha, the vegetation,budahs to pray and some differents animals. We smell the hot chocolate, fresh herb, candles and incense of the monastery and houses. We taste the snow,the candles,the animals... We feel happy because the people is generous,we feel haughty because the people of Tibet is valiant and defend the others. What do you hear/see/smell/taste/feel?
Macaco,wild buffalo,leopard,gazelle,black bear,lesser panda,yack,tibetan antelope,lynx,jackal,blue goatl,snow leopard,red panda,etc... What animals live in your area? What do they do to survive?
We see a bit the Monastery of Lasha,we see some mountains,a big countryside with animals like jacks,etc... THE LANDSCAPE:We live in a flat countryside,behind there are mountains that sometimes are cover by snow.There are some animals,too.Our window ,sometimes,is covered by frost because outside is very,very cold. What can you see when you look through your window? Describe the landscape and vegetation.
Wich traditions or festivals do you celebrate? • LOSAR,Tibetan New Year:Is the most important festival in Tibet.It is an occasion when tibetans families meet and expect that the coming year will be a better one.
Butter Lamp Festival:Chunga Choepa in tibetan,falls on the fifteenth day of the first tibetan month.People keep singing and dancing throughout the festive nigth.
Great Prayer Festival:Falls on the fourth up to the eleventh day of the first tibetan month. Religious dances are performed and thousands of monks gather for chanting before the Jokhang temple.
