Information • Dates to 1945 and 1946. • Was marketed to business men and secretaries. • Used from around 1945-1960. • Recorded sounds direct to disk. • Two disk sizes the 15 minute “Mail Chute” disk and the 8 minute • “Memo Disk” • The disk was made of soft vinyl which was a great improvement • to the wax cylinders • The stylus pressed into the vinyl making the grooves. • The Sound Scriber soon died out after the making of the Dictabelt.
